Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning IIs arrive at RAF Fairford 29th June 2016.

After an aborted trip over the Atlantic for the previous year's RIAT, the F-35 Lightning II finally made it over for this year's show. The first aircraft to touch down on UK soil was an RAF example flown by Sqdn Ldr Hugh Nichol. The F-35Bs stayed to attend Farnborough International airshow the weekend after RIAT. In the last 3 images Hugh Nichol in a USMC F-35B returns to RAF Fairford after his Farnborough display.
