Buff-bellied Pipit. Farmoor Reservoir. October 2007

A mega-alert on the pager on the evening of 8th Oct had me checking and double checking the message. An American Buff-bellied Pipit, IN OXFORDSHIRE?? No more than half a hour's drive away? Yes. It was, and after an agonising day at work I made it to Farmoor soon after the filthy weather of most of the day had abated to find the bird performing admirably on the causeway below what was probably quite a small crowd given the status of the bird in the UK.
