Red-necked Grebe. Farmoor Reservoir. April 2014

The presence of a summer plumaged Red-necked Grebe at Farmoor reservoir that was being somewhat photogenic drew me to Farmoor reservoir after work one evening. As usual, the interesting birds at Farmoor like the areas furthest from the car park so after walking to the far side of the main reservoir, I was pleased when this stunning bird was within reach of my lens.
